880 POWER BOOSTER ISSUES

I am having a issue of when I am done pulling I cant get it out of gear, whatever gear im pulling in its stuck. I have to pull the power booster from high to low and there is a pop and the shifter fees up. I have the parts to pull the power booster out and do away with it. My question is will that fix my issue? My other question is when I do away with it is is going to change my pulling gear speed or will it be the same as pulling with the booster in high?

A guy brought my Dad a 770 in pieces after his brother died and asked him to put it together. He wanted the power booster working so I took the manual and figured it out. I don't remember exactly but I think when it was engaged the tractor would not roll backward when heading up hill and you could not get it out of gear so what you describe sounds normal. I am fairly sure that removing the power booster gives you the same gearing as when it is high.

Direct drive is the same as the Power Booster in high. Most likely the pop you hear is the overcenter clutch releasing. When you pull it and it wants to roll back it is like in 2 gears. What is the serial number of your 880 and what gear do you pull in?

(reply to post at 17:43:02 08/11/15) That is normal for a power to be hard to shift when it has pull back in high range, always pull it back to low before you shift when you finish a pull btdt. It will shift normally after you take it out. Chuck

I thought I had the parts to make it direct drive but I do not. What all fo I need to pull it out and do away with it? Thanks
