A nighbor has a Fox forage chopper with a big Contenintal engine in it, it may end up in a salvage yard, I was wondering if it had any pulling applications. Mike

I had a b-427 continental in a 444 Massey Harris it came out of a sawmill. This was an extremely high rpm engine while I had it i turned it 5500 to 6000 rpm every hook. The only downside to this engine is bearings are hard to get for it. If you choose you want to pull this engine I do have a steel flywheel and single disc button clutch for it

Mike -

Could you verify that the engine is a flathead or overhead valve, four cylinder or six cylinder? There is not enough of the tag visible for me to tell what it is...

Also, is the engine for sale or does it come complete with a chopper? Where is this located?

Thanks,

Goldsburg

I have the B427 flathead I got from a Fox chopper, the stripped block setting in a MH 44 chassis. Not sure if I'll ever get it finished. Maybe when I retire, did have a fellow interested in buying it but he has not come to look at it yet. Still needs a LOT of work!!

Sorry for the incomplete description. It is an overhead valve six, gas engine, it was a good runner when parked in the shed maybe 20 years ago, it is still in the chopper, The owner is retiring and might want to get rid of it, and I'm looking in to possibilities for it, a two row wide gas forage chopper is not in high demand, but I thought the engine might have pulling applications, but don't really know.
