Do I Really Need an: Electic Fuel Pump and an Electric Fan?

I have an H that I pull with. It has been bored and stroked and the RPM tops out at 2650 rpm. When I bought it, it had an small (read that as cheap) low pressure fuel pump on it. At the last pull the pump failed and put me out of the pull. I talked to other pullers and none of the antique pullers have fuel pumps. Should I pull it off and let gravity be my friend or replace it?

Also, does going to an electric fan have any real horse power advantages at my RPM? The tractor still has the stock four blade fan and at full RPM it does move a lot of air. The tractor puts out more horsepower (50hp) than I have traction for in 4 MPH classes. I have yet to up shift to second for 6 MPH classes that could be a different story on HP verses traction.

Opinions?

If your carb is set up for fuel pump you will porably need one. Very cheap investment for making sure you have fuel at carb all the time.

As far as pump low pressure higher volume, nice if the front end goes sky high for a a bit, as for fan I'm a firm believer anything you can remove from than rotation equation is going to free up some amount of weight plus remove stress off your water pump and at 2750 rpm those steel fans will go thru sheet metal

What should I be looking for if the carb has been set up for a fuel pump? From the outside it looks like the normal carb you would find on a 350 or M minus the choke. I have rebuilt half a dozen stock carbs, so I have a pretty good idea what the stock needle and seat should look like. My next step is to pull the carb and see if it might have garbage in the float bowl.

This is just my opinion...but no to both. if you could do a dyno run with no pump and electric fan, and then one with them, the difference would be extremely minor if any. it might be different if you were turning 4500 rpms. i'd probably save the money from that stuff and put it towards roller rockers or a better ignition or something.
