4010 puller

hey guys:

Ive got an oliver 88 gas farm tractor I want to do some tractor pulling with in 3-4 mph 15.5 non cut tire class. What are my best options for getting it light and power? Should I try to find a 310 or 320 Waukesha or 6 cylinder chevy or will a 5.9 cummins fit in? I already know about removing hydraulics and installing light weight hubs on narrow front end. Does anyone make light weight 6 bolt hubs for factory narrow front? Should pto also be removed to shed weight? Trying to get to 4500-5500 pound class.

Light hubs can be found by calling Maibach tractor, before you go swapping engines find club rules and some sets for other places so you don't build to run just one place. You can tune that engine you have to make it pretty competitive, then start switching manifolds off 1600 gas etc or even go to a 310, 310 are seven main engine 320 are 4 just like your current engine so need to consult rules factory replacement in my eyes is a four main but others just mean Oliver/Waukesha engine, remove hydraulics pto any cast centered wheels and go to pressed steel you should get to 4500 with alittle breathing room
