i have a tired 283 out of a 1655 that i would like to freshen up and squeeze a few more ponies out of. i live in southeastern indiana does anyone have machine shop suggestions? will be in need of head work and checking the block for defects. has anyone used the murphy's rockers on an oil burner and if so was it worth the expense?

I have Pistons, sleeves ,rods and and good cam for that engine. The pistons are high dome m&w stock rods and a pulling cam. All these parts only have 20 hrs on them they're in great shape. Rings are as well I've kept them marked so they will match piston and sleeves are numbered so as to keep them this way. Let me know if you're interested.

i guess i should have mentioned it is a diesel i would suspect the components you have are for a gasser? thanks for your reply.

For head work I would recommend Harrison speed shop at Albion Illinois. Located on the town square.
