1936 case cc

(quoted from post at 17:01:09 05/16/15) I have a stock 1936 case cc and I was wondering how much power(if any) would I get if I put a dc head on it? Thanks

It depends on which pistons it has and assumes the cam is in good condition, a 3 7/8 " DC with the A5505 head is good for 37.5 HP. A 4" aluminum flattop piston is in the 45 range. Depending on what your rules allow it wold be best to go with the cold DC manifold, and a MS carb off a Racine 400 will let it breathe a bit better. Whatever works on a DC will work on a CC as the engine parts are interchangable.

thanks. how do you tell if you have a cold manifold? And where do I find an ms carb?

The area just above the carb and up to the place where the manifold splits and goes front and back will be about 2" in diameter and open clear to the split at the top. The hot a cast box about 3 4 " around the carb up tube.

Start checking salvage yards for a carb, if you want a set to work carb call or e mail Motec engineering, he does many MS pulling carbs for Minnies and knows the performance tricks. I think you can google Motec engineering and performance and get contact info.
