Where is best place to get crank stroked?

Thinking about building up an Oliver 88 to do some antique pulling with. Looking for a good place to get a crankshaft stroked. Any suggestions?? Thanks!
 
Where I would go. Balancer says one from them is closer than most. Also all throws are where are supposed to be. He had one there that there was 30 thousands difference in stroke. And that much out of plane. Have a hard time timing that one.
 
How much "clearance work" is needed at 5" stroke? I want it to be reliable yet make some good power too. I was thinking of going 4.250" bore for starters. Id like to be in the 150-160 hp range. I need to check the rules at these pulls around here to see what head I can use also.
 
I too am looking at building the same engine. What do most people use as pistons in the 5" stoke and 77 rods. Just looking at something cheaper than new. Looking at psi to be around 200 or ?. Will be using an 880 head. Also any info on a good carb for that app. Crank shop and block shop info would be of good help and thankful for the info.
 
You start grinding at around 5.250 range.2 inch jor. (early 77 rods).
Big Bock Chevy for 4.250 inch pistons. .990 pin.
A 4.250 X 5.00 = 426 cu. about 100 to 120 hp. an't going to hit 150-160 hp range. 4.375 X 5.500 will.
 
i used dodge pistons made wrist pin bushings, n made sleeves. there is block, and cam clearence work required, but its nothing bad at all. with a stock head gaske thickness, id expect 280psi, maybe more. we decompressed it to 240psi by using a thicker gasket, custom made. makes a nice 135-140hp at 450ci.
 

I am considering a more conservative stroke. I was going to use a Super 88 crank and have the journals machined down to accept a 77 rod bearing. However, I just noticed in the shop manual that the Super 88 has an offset rod. Does anyone know in the journal spacing on an 88 and a Super 88 are the same?
