I'm looking at making a 40 A a puller just wondering how motor and horsepower for div 2 div 2t. Or div 3 would cost
Thanks for any help

Give Ray a call at Extreme Tractors. He can get you set up from Mild to Wild!! With you knowing where you want to pull it helps alot!!

Call Murphy's unless your A has the high speed transmission you would be better off to hunt you a 41 thru 47 with a 6 speed they will run .7 mile faster in second and will beat the slow tractor by 12 to 15 ft every time. I built one of each using Murphy's 6 1/2 inch block head and 9 inch crank. Here is a picture of a 45 built into a Unstyled

Looks like it is time to observe and decide later..

You 1st are looking for a JD, now an IH...better step back and decide later...

I know. I have a friend that has an A and a M for sale just seeing which one would be best. But I think I will stay with my Super H in division 2

ray is a nice person but he wants the money up front and you might not get your parts for 2 or 3 years check out bbb for that area!!!!

That really is NOT fair...

Ray has Battled a terrible problem with his Pancreas and has survived and says he is doing much better..
Give the man a Break...after all, HE was the one who Fathered the production of BIG JD Blocks (and Still does)..
I sometimes am ashamed to hear the comments comming from this site..

What an experience to see one of his PULL..the IH guys just smile, shake their heads and say "they can't Beat those"..!!
Seen it several years in a row at Plain City, Ohio...

I think you've forgotten that it was Jerry's Machine and Welding in Kansas that was producing big bore JD blocks before RayRay ever thought about them.

730LP.. Very nice.. working on a 40 A, and planning to the same with the Unstyled parts... What does your tractor weigh?? Mine won't be that big, but should be lighter..

To the Orginal poster... I would think you would be much lighter than you listed for weight with that tractor.. Especially if you just went to pressed wheels..
