What's the deal with no tube headers in the open class?? Not complaining, would like to pull there but would also like to use fabricated manifolds.
Thanks,
Jim

It isn't worded very well. Several years ago someone showed up with 6 pipes up through the hood. If you are running a Denny's manifold, it would be fine in the open class.

And what is the problem with that in OPEN class ? It's not open unless it's open. Sounds like Limited or Super mod to me. Open to me means tire size & safety & that's it. We don't even have speed limits in open.

Thanks Jon. Looking forward to it, as do many people in the Midwest. Great people, the best tractors in the Midwest.

We don't have a speed limit in the open either.

A little history here. Our rules/pull began in 1989 and were a marriage of different local organizations in an attempt to get as many tractors to participate as possible. Our pull pre-dates the NAPTA by six years. Three of the original organizers of our pull were on either the original Executive Committee or Rules Committee or both for the NATPA.

Our rules have remained largely unchanged and will accommodate majority of what is referred to as "antique" tractor pulling. I know that there are groups around the country that run fewer restrictions in their version of open, but we don't have the facility to support that type of tractor in a safe manner.

So if I showed up with a 6 cylinder tractor and two exhaust pipes through the hood, engine covered on both sides I would be ok to run your open class? I would not be against having it paced. If I was in your shoes and had to tone down some tractors the open class would get paced.

No to the split header. No to speed limit on the open class. The "open" in the class name primarily refers to no speed limit.

I'm a lousy judge of speed. Maybe some others could chime in. I would guess most of the guys that pull open also pull NATPA DIV 4.

I don't know how far away you are from Iowa, but we run an honest pull and treat everyone well.

Amen Jon, been enjoying pulling with you for over 10 years. Never been to a more honest pull. Don't change for one guy that" might" show! See ya in March.

I am in Wisconsin and as much as I here about Sigourney I would like to try it at some point.
Thanks for the info!

Bryce,
That one guy that "might" show is just trying to make sure he doesn't drive out there for nothing and just cause a bunch of hard feelings. It's good to know you guys have enough competition out there that one less won't hurt the show. Sounds like a real good pull to me.
Thanks,
Jim
