John Deere Electronic Ignition Pictures

Does anyone have any pictures of a letter series john deere with electronic ignition. I've never really seen any in person and was thinking about doing it. Could a guy hide it all and make it look stock?

All the electronic ignition I've seen for the John Deeres fit in the dist.

Installation is easy, takes about 15 minutes, but I found it was easier to remove the distributor and make the change on the bench. My old fingers drop those little screws, so I work over a bench where they won't fall so far. As far a disguising the installation, the small insulating boot and two wire connection is a giveaway. However, an ingenious person may be able to drill out the standard connector block, glue it into the housing, take some small black shrink wrap and cover the two wires. When the wires get to the distributor though, they still need to be separated and an eagle eye is going to spot the connection. If your looking for a JD 12V application with a negative ground, the Pertronix mfg part no. is 1121 and it is usually a whole lot less expensive at Summit Racing, just search for Pertronix and put in that part number. Also, a 3 ohm primary coil is required or the expensive little electronic gadget is going to "burn out". Take care when installing the magnet that fits on the dist shaft, the lobe recesses need to be lined up and some distributors may have a burr that needs to be carefully polished off or the magnet will not go on to the shaft far enough. Don't hit it to force it on. The dust cover will not fit on the dist if the magnet is hung up on the shaft. Just be carefull, easy to install, the tractor starts and runs very well.
