Cylnder leak down test

At waseon Ohio this year my tractor was not running like it should have been. Found the problem in the carbuerator and repaired it. While it was in my garage I decided to do a cylnder leak down test. It has 2 percent or less in 3 cylnders and one that is 5 percent. When I replaced the beearings last year i could see that the cylnder walls looked perfect at the bottom. ANyways when I rebuilt the carbuerator I took my bore scope and the top of the cylnders pistons and everything look like new. I looked at the valves and they are seating like they should be and I cant see anything wrong. The camera on the bore scope shows everything. The clylder that is high on leak down I cant find anything wrong with. Would you guys tear in to it or leave it alone.

Whats the leak down time, that is whats important to make your decision. They will never hold forever Don't think i would be worried to much unless the leak down time frame is significant.

It was about ten minutes to drop to 5 or 6 percent. As soon as I posted this I got a phone call from a person who know farmalls well. My engine is a big bore engine where the liners are relocated and brazed in to the block. Nothing is perfect when that is done and it is probabably a cylnder out of round a bit. Nothing if perfect when an engine is altered and made into something it wasnt intended to be. I have very little water in the oil. I went out and done a compression test a bit ago and they are running around 279 285 287 293 The lowest cylnder being 279 which is the one that had the most leak down. I am going to adjust the valves and run it. The guides cold be some of it also. Thanks for all of your advice. It is not a new engine it has 163 hooks on it.

In my experience that's not that bad for a big engine with a few miles on it. I'd run it until compression actually started to get a little low before I'd think about taking the top end apart.

probably not broke in yet , but 163 hooks is not much run time something will brake before you will ever wear it out on a pulling engine
