Massey tub weight ?

I have these weights recorded in a note book down at our farm shop. I will be heading there tomorrow and will get them to you. The 44 had a rowcrop and standard tub. The standard is shorter and probably lighter. What I have are rowcrop weights.

If you were to remove the tub and weigh it you will find I am correct. Instead you assume the weight with no factual data other than a guess from looking at wheel weights. I believe my scales over your assumptions. I have taken the time to weigh the tub to gain factual information.
I now know why no one else posted to help you. Evidently you must be well known on this site. To say you don't believe me is the same as calling me a liar and with that I will politely bow out of any further communication with you.

Regards,
Curtis Elliott

I DO NOT BELIEVE YOU,NOT AT ALL,AND NOW THAT YOU PUT ME DOWN,YOU HAVE ZERO CREDIBILITY !!!!!!!!! There is no way with the amount of material that "MY" frame is anywhere near 400#s. I think maybe you weighed a PONY. Mine is man sized, thick and heavy.SR. elliot, thanks a bunch, your out to lunch.

why not, just because you think something doesn't make it so I know what my 77 tub weighs also the 880 and the 66 never weighed the mh but I bet Mr. Elliot is really close. Sometimes you should just accept what is given instead of insulting and pouting.

Thanks to RCP and GFS. I appreciate your support. These tubs do not weigh what people think. The density is very light and porous. I took the time to weigh this part and know what it weighs. I also have a 444 tub which is thicker and it weighs only 415 lbs. Why people can't accept the facts is beyond me but I am too old to play games and argue.

Mr no it all, elliot,my tub is not full of porosity,I have ground on many spots and it my friend is high quality cast !!!!!!!!If I take it off,my scale will read 700 - 800. Here in Iowa,we have real tractors, not little woosie toys.

I am only thinking about changing out the frame to steel tubing, rules require that for modified pulling,I have around 700hp,I have been figuring the front steering sector also,it is a special with standard front axle. The thickness of the case makes me think that 385 is just way off. Many places mine is 2" thick, very similar to the wheel weights, that is why the comparison.

Mr. 535353M,
With all due respect you are exactly the reason why so many people have left this site. I studied the progression of this posting and it is quite apparent Mr. Elliott gave you exactly what you had requested. He even stated that it was for a 44 row crop tub. You proceeded to basically call him a liar and that he was "Out to Lunch". I too have weighed several 44 tubs and they were around 390 lbs. Others have posted stating the same but you are still animate that you know more than people who actually have weighed the tubs. You even went so far as to make a totally foolish statement that somehow Iowa tractors would have heavier tubs than other tractors. If you truly have a Massey 44 with an OEM tub then take it and weigh it and you will see that Mr. Elliot and others here are close in their weights. Until then grow up and think before you speak. Attitudes such as yours will only lead to more people leaving and less knowledge communicated. Congratulations to probably driving off another member of this site. I would like to say more but I will stop before I do. I have visited this site for years but this is my first time posting. Your behavior made me speak my mind!
Good day to all,

Bernard W.

Mr. 535353m, Curtis Elliott is correct on the weight of a 44 row crop tub. I weighed a 44 row crop tub at 390, a 55 tub at 420 and a 30 tub at 340. So you need to get your facts straight. I know what I am talking about!!

535353m I have a set of certified scales that will weigh 2000 pounds in my shop. As I build a tractor I weigh each part and then my donor tractor I weigh the same part you will find that the same part May weight 2, 5, or even 20 pounds different on different tractors Mr. Elliott is correct in his weight the 44 tub will weigh right at 400 pounds if you bother to take the time to do it yourself you will find out he is correct. I have been watching your post for sometime you seem to think you know more than anybody else on the site and if someone does not agree with you you proceed to be a true jerk to that person. I think it's time for you to leave this site so others may be able to come back to this site because you have definitely ran a lot of people off of this site with your ignorace you have expressed to everyone. You won't even state what your name is to anyone on the site and you hide behind a keyboard.if you think a MH wheel weight weighs 200 pounds you are mistaken. If you would actually take the time to do one you will find they are closer to 130-140 pounds each. Thank you Tim

Last time,(maybe not for much longer),I still have the right to my opinion, just like all you other posters.Happy New Yr. Cold as heck here in Iowa, might freeze my tub off.

Again with all due respect, You asked for the weight of the tub. Now you are talking about front ends and steering sectors. What is next that you want to add, engine, bellhousing and radiator. These all bolt to the tub as well. You can't even keep your story straight. Please go away and let people use this site for its intended purpose. This is my last post on this matter. If I continue you will bring me to your idiotic level and beat me with your experience.
