NATPA Championship and Qualifier 2015 and other announcement

The 2015 NATPA final Qualifier and Championship will be held on April 10 and 11th, 2015 in Lebanon, Missouri.

This is per Brad Begeman who asked me to announce it.

Additionally- the 2015 rules meeting is in Tallmadge, Ohio this year on the Friday prior to the pull, March 13th, 2015.

The 2015 Summer championship pull is June 13th, 2015 in Napoleon, Ohio, in the midst of a huge weekend of pulling at the facility, which is pretty nice from what I have seen of it.

The 2016...2016 Championship pull is in Mason Michigan, date TBA.

I want to thank the NATPA leadership and board for getting this together and it will be in The HOOK, Im finishing the HOOK up now as Im writing this. Contact any board members with questions about any of the provided information. Thank you.

Yeah real great-It's been a big year for the natpa board of directors-First they spend there time completely ruining an entire class. Now they have moved the meeting as far east as they could possibly get. Apparently in making up for dragging there feet in setting up a championship pull for this year decided to be on the top of things for next year and move the pull to centrally located Michigan. What's next? I too want to thank the board for making this announcement. It certainly makes the decision whether or not to renew my membership easy!

Must be you live in the west?

If you can not figure it out the class is listed on the new changes on natpa web page we had to seperate classes before and it was fair before now we also other tractors added to much for most little tractors and as far as there meeting unless you are east of the mississipi river your vote doesnt mean much ALSO I AM FROM THE WEST Side

Point of reference on Division 1 changes, thats an insurance issue, not a NATPA issue. Gotta have insurance to pull, period. I agree that it diminishes the "restoration" aspect of a D1 tractor but it provides protection in a sue-happy world.

The last tractor I saw almost go all the way over was a bone-stock unit in Wisconsin in 2013 as a basis for my opinion, by the way.

I'm actually glad you brought that up because that was what I thought to. But the fact is that is not the case. The insurance has not changed. And if it was done in the name of "safety" then why wasn't the safety committee involved? Even if the board did that for safety why was the hitch rule changed? That was brought before the membership and did not pass. The board changed that and that has nothing to do with safety. Tvman brought up something they changed also that they had no business meddling in. Division 2t is a board run class. I'm not saying I'd change anything in that class but shouldn't the membership at some point have a say in it. What's the point in having a membership meeting if the board is going to change what they want when they want anyway? As for you Mr. Lively If you take the time to read the division 1 rules on the hitch the way they were written before the change, Physics say that that tractor cannot go over backwards - And that's not an opinion its physics. Your bone-stock tractor more than likely had a short, high hitch point. It is my opinion that the board has overstepped they're authority in quite a few places and that needs to change before they ruin the entire organization. Who's class is next?

The D1 rules need updated to match the general rules, according to the D1 rules page wheelie bars are optional. This needs to be fixed before the next pull, or an argument may occur.

I am not a supporter of the wheelie bars for D1, but all most all of our local clubs now require them. I will be building or buying a set for our Oliver 66.

We are complaining about Div 1? Come on!

Yes Div 2T is a board run class because the members couldn't agree on rules so this class was instituted because the board saw the need for this class. Now it is one of the biggest classes while Div2 has dwindled.

You guys need to understand that the Michigan and Ohio pullers have traveled to Missouri for years, why all the complaining if Missouri comes to Michigan.

This thread is proof that you cannot make everyone happy, but usually the complainers are the ones sitting on the sidelines not bothering to even help run these tractor pulls that they spend so much time on here complaining.

You guys should host, sponsor, and organize a national caliber pull, if you pull it off successfully you would have much more respect for all the people VOLUNTEERING to organize a place for you to pull at.

OK superih obviously you do not pull in div. 1 so you don't care - I don't pull in div. 1 either but I do care. You do realize that the only reason div. 2t is a class is because people COMPLAINED about not being able to pull with top cut tires and tried unsuccessfully to change div.2.So the board made a class which has turned out to be quite successful. You say div. 2 has dwindled and I agree. I also think 2t has taken quite a few div. 3 tractors also. All I'm saying is that at some point shouldn't the membership at least if nothing else approve of the class and have a meeting discussing the rules. If not then why are we all paying dues. I am not from Missouri and would not have a problem with a championship pull say in Princeton but why move it clear to Michigan? Just doesn't seem very central to me. As far as the complainer comment I don't see where one has to do with the other.

One reason for the move to Mason maybe the deal they got there. Was told at the earlier pull at Mason that there was enough sponsorship for the pull that it didn't cost NATPA anything for the facility. Also the hospitality was great, an excellent supper was provided and the facility was pretty good. Just a thought anyway. 850 miles from here to that pull. 790 to Princeton. Not enough miles between them to complain about.

Looked at the Wason Pull Results see very little division 1 perticitation in these classes and in divison 5 only 3500& 3750 so why dont the open up the years in divion 5 so that we are able to compete maybe up to 1961????? They combined 3250 A&B together Just a question wish someone would tell us or is this another exective board decision

Each div. rules are up for change every 3rd year. (ok,ok, not 2t} If enough people want div. 5 to be 61 year, bring it up at the rules meeting. Remember you need to write out changes and be on the agenda, don't just holler it out at the meeting like some want to.

Just would like to know when the rules and what classes are up every year to be voted on never posted on website that I can Find so we could possibly have a chance to submit are possible changes and maybe only the members that pulling those classes should be allowed to vote on those classes. This has been adress before and we have everyone voting on them. Just a thought,Thanks TVMAN

Since when I MI. as far East as you can go?????????????. And my friend commenting about short stock tractor hitches, you are wrong, most are back 28-30 inches from center of axle, duh !! And have supports at or above axle height. And the board has openings all the time, get on,inject input,it is a thankless job, everyone of you wants something personal changed !!!!!!!! Way to many wheelie bars not nearly strong enough to hold the tractor in any emergency. There is no club or organization that does not have an internal nucleus of power and strength, that is what keeps it keeping on.Some one must be in charge and make tough choices,it is not easy to please half, let alone the majority. Dan and Brad and the whole crew does an awesome job. Try tech for just one hour at one pull and you all will show more respect.
