300 utility alternator

Which 1 wire alternator can I use on my 300 utility ? I need one that will fit under the hood. Thanks for any help.

If they have as much room as a H you can turn bracket over and get a short belt and make the old chev. alt work.

We do this a lot. On an H Farmall you take a Delco 10DN rotate the rear so that indentation (spot on a 10SI where there would be a regulator) is pointing towards the rocker arm cover. On an H you will have enough room to move the alternator back and tighten the belt. (No Need to Cut the hood) A Delco 10SI is the one you are thinking of that can be purchased as a "one wire" alternator however a 10DN installed as described will give you more room to tighten the belt. When installing the 10SI self exciter (one wire) we use the plug with the diode in it to prevent the battery form getting run down. Don't remember the part number off hand. One other challenge with the self exciter is that some times you have to rev the tractor up to get them to excite.
