John Deer G Tractor

I own a Farmall. I seen some John Deeres that run very well. What are they doing to get that much power out of 2 clylnders. My Farmall makes descent power but those deeres had a lot more power. Is it after market blocks and cylnder heads. What expense goes in to getting a good running one.

most run Murphy's around here in Va. they make a lot of torque. at about 4500 for block and piston and 2000 for a head . there is also a lot of small stuff. is that in line with your Baker engine ?

I am not running a Baker engine. Gary has never touched my tractor. I agree he has some of the strongest engines out there though. At Wauseon Those John Deeres were making serious power. They lacked nothing. At the end of the track they had as much as much power as they started with. I was just wondering how they are doing that with 2 cylnders. Someone has figured out the correct combination. As far as is mine in line with that price. I have alot more money than that in my engine. If they are making that horsepower for that price that is a bargain.

Sorry I thought you had said you had a Baker engine that's why I asked how much they were . Neverless I've only seen engines about 900 to 1000 cubic inches in a Deere run and they do run good .

alot of the bigger gs at950/1000cu,you can get most all the the parts for arround 15k,billet crank, aftermarket block, aftermarket head, billetrods and pistons, cam is around 400,ratiorokers arround another4/500. what i am running is at 750cu running pb 486 head bigger crank an billet rods, runs strong in 4/5mph classes. my email is open

Can you give me a call. I leave at 3:30 am and get home around 5:30 pm. I sentan email not sure if you got it. Number is 575 242 0237. We are very busy at work and I cant be talking on the cell phone there. Thanks. Dave Thompson jr.

Per dollar it's still tough to beat a M or super M with a 400/450 block and head. With the sleeves removed, high compression Pistons, a cam, a five angle valve job and some rpm.

Deeres are not a high RPM tractor, they thrive on low end torque. And cubic inches are not everything... its being efficient with the cubic inches you have
