Looking to lighten up my farmall m over the winter, does anyone on this forum make rigid seat posts for a farmall M or at lest.know someone who does?/thanks

You can easily make your own.Take some 1/8 or 1/4" flat steel,cut/drill to fit the deck.Take a length of square(or round) tubing as the upright. Then another flat to bolt the seat to. Or make it out of aluminum for even less wt.

a rigid seat is hard on the back when you lean back on it and tractor starts to hop when you spin out , took mine off after that happened and put a spring one back on a couple of pounds wasnt worth it

I'm with you there, Bock. One of my pullers has a solid seat, and it's rough. Don't know if I'd do that again.

After tearing down a very stubborn old building yesterday with the M, My rear end and lower back are telling me I'm going to have to scrap that idea of a rigid seat post. lol

Some boat seat adjustable pedestals have pneumatic springs like an office chair. They are made to hold up in a bouncing boat. They should be available locally or on-line.
