Hello I am thinking about building a cockshutt 40 for a pulling tractor my question is how big can you build the stock engine or will a Hercules bolt in from a different tractor?
Thanks for any help

if you don't want to swap blocks you can put the crankshaft out of the 262 Gleaner into your 40 motor. gives it 1/4" more stroke. with some other work you can get into the 80 hp range pretty easy.
the 262 motor will bolt up with not a lot of work and gives you about 70 hp in stock form. i've known some guys who built them into the 100 hp range.

The hercules motor will go in it with some work I think you will need the rear motor plate and flywheel from a 570
