Im looking to get back to my roots at antique tractor pulling. Looking to stay light weight classes because i only have a half ton truck now. I do have a farmall h but really dont want to do anything to that one because it was my grandpas he bought brand new. Also have a farmall a but im not seeing much on them for pulling plus i enjoy using it with my woods belly mower. I might be able to grab an allis c cheap. Will this make a decent 3000-3500 lb class tractor without breaking the bank? What can ya do with these little tractors? Am i on the right track or am i looking in the wrong direction here?

Those are a bit small. To pull without spending a pile of money I would suggest an Allis WC or WD or WD45. Not a lot more weight but a good deal more stock HP. A Ford 900 series is a good choice also but more costly to start, generally. Depends on where you are puling.

Find a CA - or swap a CA transmission into the C. The four speed transmission is better. I put the four speed in my C - did a bit of motor work - fun little tractor but I pull stone boat - 2500 lb and 3500 lb class.

Ok so i just wont it on ebay for $750. Looks like a nice original barn find. I only placed one bid early this morning before posting this thinking it wont go that cheap but to my surprise it did. Im not looking to be super competitive, just low budget have some fun. Where would you start with it? Im thinkin upgrade to 12v and weld up weight brackets hitch and wheelie bars. Would you look into tire upgrade power upgrade next? Remember, looking to keep it on the cheap side.

a d-14 or d15 motor would drop right in and make a big differance. thats what pink power got in it what state you in?

A farmall C/Super C is a good light weight Puller 3000 to 4000 sometimes 4500 With out spending a lot of money on!

Im in ny up near lockport. Only plan on hittin 2-3 pulls a year when they are close to home for now until my new starting family is a little more established.

I have a Allis B which is close to your C.
A few easy fixes:
1: Get a D15 Governor Spring. This will allow more revs
2: Watch ebay and grab a D14 or similar model carb.
3: take the manifold off and ensure that the ports align. If not grind them to match. A lot of manifolds have sloppy castings

Sort of bad things:
1: 1st gear is 2.75 mph or so, running extra revs will push you past 3 mph (if that it the rule limit)
2: These tractors are light! 2500 is easy, but needs weights for 3000. 3500 would be pushing the stock gearing/power.
3: Since they are light, the front end will pop up quickly. Be aware!

Keven did you go to the pull in middleport the last sun. in july at John LePards farm? I was there visiting Mike LePard who did the head on my 880 oliver. Kenny

Alright, so ill need to stick with a stock size tire for 3mph
classes then? I have 1000 lbs of suitcase weights left over i
didnt sell yet and i believe most pulls around here start at 3000
lbs so sounds like ill be a one class tractor.

Its currently still a magneto, should i be looking for a distributor
and drive or would you consider the gov spring and carb more
important? Is the gov spring available through steiner or the
ones i see on ebay for 12 bucks what im after? Listed to fit
b,c,ca, and d14? Also hitch ideas? Looks like it currently has a
horse shoe set up and the hyd lift for a mounted plow.
