John Deere 435 engine build for sled pulling

Hi, I'm new here to this forum. I have a JD 435 that I have completely tore all the way down and rebuilding the engine, transmission, diff and final drives on. I'm all finished with the drive train. Already have a clutch setup for pulling. But I find myself way to busy farming these days to be able to build the 2-53 for sled pulling. So my question is does anyone here know of and tractor pulling engine builders capable of building this 2-53 for me and upping the horse power and torque. This tractor will only see a 300 foot dirt track. Will never be driven in parade's or used on the farm. Suggestions are also welcome on what parts to use to make more power.

I can't help from responding! I know just enough to be dangerous about a 2-53. :) give me a call 618 599 8041. Vic

I have never seen a 435 make a respectable pull, but I know that VicS does well with his so I would have to say that he is your man.

If you did not replace the factory 435 ring and pinion with a ring and pinion from a higher ratio gasoline 1010 prior to serial # 31,000. 15% Slower. 1st gear is too slow and 2nd gear is too fast. .You haven't rebuilt the drive train.
Also the final drive gears from a 1010 after serial #31,001 to slow another 15%.
Engine is good for 55-60HP at 2400rpm That is it. It won't make power like a built Oliver or a Farmal Super H.
Somebody asked on the JD site about make power with a 2-53.

buickandeere would you have a source for the 1010 pre #31,000 ring and pinion gears? I have searched high and low for them to no avail. Do the after #31,001 final drive gears fit in the existing 435 final housings or do the 1010 housings with gears bolt right on the 435?
Has anyone ever considered swapping out the 2-53 for a 3-53? I have a 3-53N 4 valve motor and have already pulled the tractor bell housing, timing gears and rear bell housing mounting plate on the 2-53 and installed them on the 3-53 and they do fit. But I don't think the drive train would be able to handle the power of the 3-53. What are your thoughts on this?

If the ring and pinion was upgraded with the HD 1010 set then it would probably handle a 3-53.
Rumour has it there is at least one 435 with a stretched hood and a 105HP 3-53 aluminum block engine from a Gamma Goat.
If you didn't know what to look for, few persons would notice.
The 1010 final drives will bolt on but the drawbar mounts have to be re-worked.
Only the 31,000 and lower R&P fit in the 435.

Good to talk to you John. Hope I helped you a
little. Call me anytime. Every day is different for
me,can't tell what or where I do every day. Vic
