waiting in line at the scale

Is anyone else tired of waiting in long lines at the scale? This has been going on for quite a few years, but last Thursday night at Pinkneyville Illinois it really ticked me off. Tractor after tractor pulled onto the scale and added all their weights for the next class. The line was over twelve tractors long and the sleds were waiting on people to get hooked up. At least while your waiting in line for twenty minutes you get the entertainment of watching people trip over the piles of weights that are stacked up so close to the scale you can’t even take a step without stepping on one. One of these times a pile of weights is going to fall and mess the scale up. I always come to the scale with my weights on and with the help of Mrs. K. I can have my weight checked and drawbar adjusted in about a minute.

Yes,and taking ten minutes to change hitch height,so many are so thoughtless, can not teach common sense !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not to be holding for Cal or the pull people the reason all the weights are by scale is you are parked so far from scale that you wont be back in time for your next hook in modified. The only way to cure the problem is 2 scales which Cal has but don't know why he don't bring them there. Most of his pulls one scale works fine.

I love the guys who spend 10min getting their weight down to the 5lb then wanna argue when the are over after they pull.

Nobody would dream of doing that around here. So what if your trailer is far off? That happens some times. Cowboy up you wimps!! Last Saturday I took 1500 off and then put it back on. Then did 500 off and on for my 73 YO buddy, and I am 65. We were parked 50 yards from the scale and our trailers were a half mile away.

I was at P-ville. Before it started Cale was saying they were offered another set of scales, by the sled guy that was going to pull friday nite. Didn't want them. We were allowed two pulls. I brought weights for the 3750 to the scales took them off and piled them there. weighted to 3500. I was last puller in 3500 open. and second puller in 3750. As soon as I pulled I cut in line and weighted up. I don't think they waited on me. But we did wait on the first tractor to pull in the 3500. He was young and didn't cut in line. Finally someone waved him around, to the scales. They just needed a official to wave the heavy tractors off and get the lighter tractors weighted first. If nobody left weights at scales the pull would have lasted till friday! Actually I had a great time and wish to thank everyone who had anything to do with it! Vic

I have never seen that, everywhere I pull you put your weights on back at your trailer and then run over the scale, steady procession across. We all get there early and pre-weigh before the pull starts so we know what to throw, I pretty much know how every scale weights and can hit er right on the head and just scale to check.

VicS I 2nd that. I never heard anybody say any thing that night. Some body must of been having a bad day.

It has been going on for years at a lot of the pulls. Even at a pull when there is no rush It ticks me off when I take the time and go back to my trailer, put on my weights and preadjust my hitch that I have to sit and watch someone on the scale add all their weights. Guess I don't feel important enough to make everyone behind me wait on me to add all my iron.

I run the scale for our club and that crap would not fly.if there's a line you can adjust your hitch and you can get your behind off my scale.than you can go back to your hauler change your weights and get back in line.no weights by my scale .to meny narcissists out there today

(quoted from post at 16:10:51 08/17/14) ShowCrop gets the idoit of the pull award! Good for u loser

Ha Ha Ha!! Jackie sweetheart, so sorry, didn't see your toes sticking out so far. Maybe the word you wanted was idiot? Don't know what an idoit is. Maybe it is someone who just does it without needing a dozen people watching and waiting.

it was a long line to wait if the tractors that weren"t gonna pull for 3 hours would just wait till light classes are done would speed things up alot

Yes it was bad there.I was in the 3500 and 3750 and had to go around The golf carts the 5500-6500 Tractors in line.It was the most pullers ever to be there . Had a talk to one of the guys running pull and will try to have another scales next year.Had fun and great track.
