Just throwing it out there. Western mass pullers will be at the Westfield fair this Saturday at 9 am. Club fee for one event is $10 and $8 per weight class. Stone boat. Stock and enhanced. 3500#-12500# and garden tractors.

2. There will be an $8.00 fee per tractor per class pulling in an official pull.
3. Any child (age 14-17) pulling will need written parental permission. Pullers aged 14-17 will not be required to pay for membership, but will have to pay the $8.00 fee per tractor per class. Younger children will not be allowed to pull. (See Lawn & Garden rules below.) (Refer to rule 33.)
4. Classes are as follows: Lawn & Garden Up to 14 hp stock, Lawn & Garden Up to 14 hp enhanced, Lawn & Garden 15 to 19 hp enhanced, Lawn & Garden 20 hp and over enhanced, 2500, 3000, 3500, 4500, 5000, 5500, 6500, 8000, 9500, 11000, and 12500. The 2500# to 12500# classes will be Antique tractors up to and including year 1960, stock tractors from 1961 to 1970, and Home Made tractors. All tractors will pull in the same class, and be judged separately. A minimum of two like tractors is necessary to constitute an official pull for that class. Classes for 14500# and Free For All will be offered if there are two or more entries. The Free For All will be open to Farm Stock (newer) tractors. The 3500, 4500, 5500, 6500, and 8000# classes will be split into stock and enhanced classes (with enhanced to weigh in at 3500, 4500, 6000, 7000, and 8000#). Stock will be 700 PTO rpms, not cut tires, pulling less than 3 miles per hour, having a stock block and correct motor. Also we may do a compression check. Anything else would be in the enhanced class.
5. Weight allowance for classes will be +/- 80 pounds up to the 3500# classes. Classes 4500# and up will be the correct amount.
6. Pull from tight chain.
7. Track speed to be moderate to track conditions – excessive speed deemed unsafe may be subject to disqualification by the track committee.
8. Observe flagman and stop when told to or flagged.
9. Draw bar height: 20” to top of inside hole of fixed hitch. Minimum 3” drawbar clevis or ring is required.
10. Hitch must be at least 18” from center of rear axle.
11. Tractors with 3-point hitch drawbar must be secured with stabilizer bars in fixed position.
12. Rollover bars (wheelie bars) will support the weight of the tractor, and be 10” off the ground with 5” square pads, the entire pad to extend outside the extreme edge of tires.
13. Rollover bars will be checked by Pull Committee when signing in. If acceptable, tractor will pull with 10’ chain. If deemed not acceptably safe, tractors will pull with a 15’ chain.
14. Front of weight: Maximum 11’ from center line of rear axle.
15. All weights used must be secured – loss of any weights during pull will mean disqualification.
16. Weights used may be bolt on or suitcase, depending on pull.
17. All tractors MUST have working brakes and kill switches.
18. Tractors will pull in one gear – no shifting with torque amplifiers.
19. No alcoholic beverages allowed.
20. No 4-wheel drive tractors unless front drive shaft is removed.
21. No chains or dual wheeled tractors are allowed.
22. Steel wheeled tractors are allowed.
23. Radial and cut tires are both acceptable (see above rule #4).
24. No front end loaders are allowed.
25. No standing up on tractor – remain seated or be disqualified.
26. Only one person on tractor when in motion – regardless of age.
27. Tractors and stone boat must stay within marked boundary lines or be disqualified.
28. A pull over five (5) feet will constitute an official pull. A pull less than five (5) feet will have the option to hook one more time from that point. The last hook taken will be the official distance. This is for stone boat pulls only. Transfer sled pulls – test pull for the sled operator only – if the sled doesn’t change, the first pull counts.
29. The full pull distance will be subject to the track used and announced prior to the start of the pull.
30. The starting line may be moved at the discretion of the track committee at any time during the pull at the end of any full round in order to maintain the integrity of the track.
31. If a mechanical problem occurs while pulling, it is your option to fix the problem and rehook within the same class ONE TIME. Addition of blocks on boat will not be held up for you – join in when you are ready within the same class. Hitch problems are included in this rule.
32. Pullers must go back over scales when finished in each class for weight and hitch height checks.
33. New/non experienced drivers must notify Directors before pulling. A practice area will be set up for them. All drivers must be able to come out on the track alone and be able to handle the tractor.
34. Free For All class – Tractors will not weight more than 24000#. A safe height for blocks will be established and upon reaching that height a chain will be placed under the boat to end the pull.
35. ANY AND ALL DISPUTES WILL BE DECIDED BY THE TRACTOR PULL COMMITTEE

Noones going to be pulling your head off to see if you have flat top pistons in your tractor. People arent super picky about truely stock as I dont think there are many truely stock from factory tractors in pulling.

(quoted from post at 03:52:57 08/14/14) rules say kill switch...do we really need one?

The one that came stock from the factory is adequate. No ones going to be combing the tractor over. Our C didn't have a kill switch on it for a while.

Enhanced tractors are quite obviously far more powerful. There's no question over a "stock" H and one running a 350 utility motor.

Jason it might be worth pointing out that the rules, at least as I understand them, are put together to apply to both sled and stone boat pulls, and some don't really apply at the stone boat pull this week.

(quoted from post at 18:54:39 08/14/14) Thanks pf. Is there a speed limit in enhanced?

No. It's supposed to be 3mph for stock but I've never seen anyone out there shooting radar.
No speed limit in enhanced which is what really sets the classes apart because my H won't do much even in second gear.

What town and state are you from? I have a friend here in Windsor locks that knows a guy who pulls with an Oliver.
