Moline UTS vs UTU vs UB for pulling

Can anyone shed some light on which form of the moline U works best for pulling? UTS, UTU, or UB, I have all 3 chassis laying around just cant decide which one to use for pulling? I'm in the process of building a 500 CID puller and want it ready for the start of the next pulling season! Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

My choice is UTS. They are lighter than utu or ub. The hand cluth can be adjusted to not slip with the big cubes; the ub would require a rebuild; some UTS are geared a bit faster than the others (geared to run the same speed with 30" rubber as 38" on utu); and the standard fronts are more "unique". (just my preference).

My vote goes for the UB. So much more operator
friendly! In a emergency most of us will instantly
push with both feet. Only on a UB will this stop
you.

is there a "better then some" years for the UTS? I believe the one I have is a later because of the newer style clam shell fenders

A 5 Star would be best. But out of whichever "U"
model you choose, use the input shaft out of the UB
so you can have a foot clutch. Jeff

What weight do you want to run? UB is far more
operator friendly, but are harder to get under 5,000
lbs. I think there's a certain casting # U rear end
that was lighter, but I'm not certain.

Well I was thinking of running from 6000 to 8500 at the highest! The only class I wouldn"t mind running under 6 would be a 5500 king of the hill
