47 AJD vs F-20 farmall

OK I get it that the 47 A won't make that great a puller. If do buy it I have to get rid of one to make room. I have a 37 F-20 Farmall I was thinking of selling. I know they don't make that great of a puller either. I was wondering between the A and F-20, which would be the better puller?

Anything can make a great puller you just have to put the money and time into it. I just say this because where i pull its extremely rare for an actual stock tractor to win. but i think the A would probably be cheaper and easier to make a good puller out of, just what i think.

There was an F 20 at the Sac County fair pull on Saturday. He was VERY competitive . . .I was shocked at how well it pulled. Im not sure what he placed but he pulled in 4 classes.

I second, F-20 hands down. "stock", or modified. One of the reasons for that is the tire size difference between them. And good luck trying to find huge tires and rims for an A.
IF you want to get down to the 2500# class your better off with a Farmall B. Plenty of cubes for that class.
Edit; or an early C such as my 1948. With tin wheels on my C, I could easily get it into 2500#.

Edit; I had a brain fart and thought farmall A. So in the case of a John Deere A, the JD is a much better puller but modified the 20 has potential and would be a nice change from the usual.

Your not goin to get a good answer here, if u want to pull a John
Deere, buy the A. If you like Farmalls, stick with the f20, you all
ready have it. Both are goin to take money & work to be good
pullers. Nothing pulls great with out a little help. A's come w/38"
rear wheels so "huge rubber" shouldnt be a problem.
