If there is enough adjustment of the high speed adjuster to compensate for the extra fuel needed to run, it will give you a small bit more power but best check with your club rules about using alcohol first.

I have learned thru my many years of drag racing, that Alky helps gain more power MOSTLY because of its high octane rating and cooling effect when used. Unless you have very high compression in your tractor, the gain IMPO wont help you enough to find the E85 and use it. Now, if you need the high octane and can find E85 easily, AND IF YOUR CARB WILL ADJUST without modification, open up the high speed mixture screw and pull it and listen for a lean "surge and popping" in the exhaust, it would help. Let us all know your outcome wont ya??

Rusty, I live in the middle of Kentucky and I checked for E85 about a year or so ago. I found 2 (did you see it?) 2 fuel stations that sold it and one was in Lexington and one in Louisville. From me that is 75 miles one way and 82 miles to the other. I will also enlighten everyone that Methanol wont mix with 110 gas there fore you can not make home made blended fuel anywhere near 85% alcohol. Now perhaps there are a bunch more stations that have jumped on board and all started pumping E85 but I will tell you this, I use to drag race for a LONG time and ran Methanol in 5 different cars I have owned and raced. I used it and bought it by 55 gallons at a time from a chemical distributor. I can say that I DO KNOW QUITE A BIT ABOUT USING ALCOHOL.
