Propane Injection on IH D236

I found a thread from a long time ago on here about putting a nozzle from an ether injection kit into the air intake on the D236 in a Farmall 460, and running a light pressure of propane into the intake while pulling for a little extra power. If anyone can give me some tips on this or where to get a nozzle it would be appreciated.

I have put LP injection on a 4010 JD. Best to just turn your diesel pump up. LP just adds fuel, the same as just adding diesel.

Propane injection systems were sold tried around 1970. They claimed to work best on turbocharged engines because of better mixing and some intake air cooling from vaporizing the liquid propane.

Two neighbors installed it in naturally aspirated diesels and then worked the tractors hard. Both tractors had broken crank shafts. I wondered if too rich a mixture of propane might have some pre-ignition before the diesel fuel was injected.

I used a demand regulator from like a fork lift. It was a century and used the adjustment screw, elbow. Just start with one round. I think the fork lift was 8 rounds out. Also need a electric shutoff in the high pressure line. Can't run it unless are pulling the engine. But watch out for spark knock! Again better to turn up your pump 30 to 50%.

Simple standard LP regulater. vapor only Electric shutoff. start with 1/8" oriface. Turn on under load Did a fair number back in the early 70s

Use a standard LP regulator on a small cylinder. 1/8" oriface. Won't cause any damage to engine. Smoke should get lighter gray. Did a fair number of them in the early 70's

The knock is a result of igniting the fuel btdc. Detonation doesn't light the fuel, the heat of compressing the air does. You can't get spark knock in a diesel as they don't use spark for ignition. WI50 was right about what he said about the people on here. I don't think there's anyone on here that knows an f'n thing anymore. Those same people ran the smart ones off.
