looking for tractor with the most potenial for HP

I am not trying to start a fight but was wondering what tractor has the most potential for hp not thinking about diesels just c,h,m poping johnnies, MM what ever for lite weight pulling Don,t have any classes here in Atlantic Can and was thinking about starting a pulling circuit for the area but wanted a dog in the fight to get things started. looking for any and all suggestions. thanks Ron

Depends on how much $$$ you want to put in whatever you build..and the "Class" you intend to pull in..

EXPERIENCE is what will give you an edge..

An 88 Oliver repowered with a 310 Waukesha, a 460 farmall repowered with a rd 501, a ub moline with big crank and 800 jugs, or a 400 case with the full Gary baker package.

If you want to go a bit bigger, get a moline gvi with a HD 800 transplant.

No simple; easy answer to that question. If you spend enough money; there are not many models that will not pull. It depends on how much (or little) you want to spend; how fast you want to go; how heavy or light you want to be; what the rules allow where you plan on pulling; how hard the sled pulls; how tight the track is; what size tire you will have; and the list goes oh and on and........... my suggestion is to attend pulls. Watch look, listen, ask questions and decide. Of course; as my name implies; I believe you can get more H.P. per dollar from a Moline. Of course you have to know what parts to use; where to find them; etc.... ALL models will get into the wallet when you start getting a machine shop involved. HAPPY HUNTING!!!!!!!

If I understand you right, nobody is pulling and you want to start a pulling circuit-pulls.You start at the stock end(what everybody has or can start with)then build up to later. You come in with a hot dog now and nobody else does, then you are DEAD in the water after 2-3 pulls. To answer your question,Farmall M or MM U-UB in 5000-7000 classes.

Late model (1950-1952) John Deere A or B with creeper gear. JD 60 is also good choice. They balance well and can compete well with other stock tractors.
I agree with others, need to start with what is around and work up from there.

Where in Atlantic Canada are you? There are several pulls in NB, NS, and PE. Have you checked out the NS clubs site? We just had a pull in Kinkora PE that had classes from 2500-12,000 lb + classes. About 50 tractors registered. Dundas PE are talking about a pull Aug 22nd. There are several around within a few hours travelling at the most.

I am half way from Centreville to Woodstock in New Brunswick the only pull around here for old stuff is in Richmond Corner coming up 22nd to 24th in Aug. I was thinking about getting a circuit going for the smaller old stuff so guys could get into pulling cheap and have some fun so any help with rules and or limits would be much appreciated.
