looking for ideas to build a stone boat to replace clubs boat. ours has about 45 degree front plate and still digs up the track too much. Like to see pictures yours and how well it works. seen some that has a built I wedge in front, others flat across. Any thought's?

Just some thoughts. Stone boats around here are just used for horses. They are 4 ft wide and 8 ft long so they get 5 ft high or so with concrete blocks. Is yours 7 ft wide? I would think you should copy a jon boat for the front and the back.Just raising 4 inches in two ft. Using same piece of steel. Vic

Stone boat pulls are not uncommon in this area. Some guys have built some real nice ones. The front usually comes up at no more than a thirty degree angle with the ground. Some heavy uprights at each end to hold the blocks is a really good idea. Do you normally set the boat start point ahead a foot or two for every few weight classes? If you stay on the same dirt for 400 hooks you end up with very soft ground and the boat will dive while going both forward and back, and then you have a submarine pull instead of a boat pull.
