Hey all. I am thinking about doung a little work to my G 900 Moline to pull with. Since I will be new to pulling what class would I be able to pull in? Wasn't going to modify it to heavily. That diesel is plenty strong in stock trim . Thank you in advance for any replies.

I've owned two G-900's and they are great tractors for farming...For pulling they just dont have much potential..In the late 1960's,early 1970's I pulled ours a few times in the 12,000 lb stock class...At 110 horses it pulled in 1st gear and was usually in the middle to the bottom of the class..This was with a 5 mph pace tractor..It was no match for the 806-856 IH's and 190 XT AC's..

There is one G1000 here pulling in the 12000 NA Class. He has a 585D. They use a drop pan sled.
So the faster you can go the farther you can go. Means the V8 Olivers with a 3 speed torque are the ones to beat. There is a 5020 JD that can place. They have a 650 cu. limit. Doubt if any are torn down. So realistically need 8oo inches high
compression. Serious head work and a 3 speed torque. Saw a 560 IH pull last weekend, admitted to 740 cu and 325 hp. No blower. But there was another 560 there that had more! Seriously just take it and have fun. The rest can come later.
