Wondering in what gear you guys think a 966 would pull the best? This is actually a stock 966, nothing fancy. Pulled Hs and 400s many times but never pulled the 9. Kind of excited about it. T/A use is legal. Thanks.

My guess would be 10,000 lb and 12,000lb classes? I was thinking 3 low too... The tires are 18.4x38 long bar short bar COOP AGRI-POWERs. This is a completely stock tractor, open station, no duals.

Have you scaled it? Unless it's a bare back, I don't think you'll get down to 10000lb.

If you turn the fuel pump up all the way and do nothing else, it should pull 110hp on the dyno.

Weighs 13,000 and change with loaded rear tires, quick hitch, and full rack of front weights. Will be losing the front end weight, quick hitch and draining fluid out of the tires for the pull. Not a tillage tractor anyhow. Just a yard dog anymore.

Low 3rd. In 10000 class you might be able to low 4th. Id leave the front weights on till you get there can always take just enough off to make weight.

Neighbor had a 1256 if I have the numbers right. Tractor came from out west in wheat country and he likes to collect. Neighbor kid pulled low three and spun out. Never got into engine. I pulled high one for experiment that day cause plow gear way to slow. I wailed on the healthy 4020s that were there. Ended up second or third. Guess im saying is get gutsy and try it.

I have a stock 856 that I pull in 11500lb class has 20.8 x 38 on it on fluid in tires but has 4 wheel weights on each side and a narrow frt on it I hang 4 100lb ih weights on it to make weight. on a good pulling track in low 3rd the old girl has her hands full when you get to very end of the track 290ft 300ft if you know what I mean.. hope this helps.
