Looking for information on building a S88 diesel. Would like to find a set of 3 7/8 in. pistons. I would also like to know what can be done to make it breath better.

Charles, Call Brad @ Maibach Tractor three three 0-nine3nine-4onenine2 for the 3 7/8" kit. use an intake from a 1800, bigger valves, stroke it 1/4" by offset grinding the crank and use 77 rods, plane 1/8" off the top of the pistons, get the cam reground. Hope this helps, Chuck

Thanks, if 77 rods are used, it would have to be stroked a half inch.

I'm hoping to get 70hp. Do you know how much I could get with the combination you suggested?

Charles, I would call Brad @ Maibach, you can buy the crank, rods and pistons form him. My brother has that set up with the 1/4" stroke and had Competition Cams do the cam. He thinks it makes 90+ hp. He can pull 9500 in3rd gear on most tracks. The rpms are about 10% over. Chuck
