John Deere A weight

I have a 1950 JD A that with the tires loaded and cast center wheels without me on it weighed 6500lbs. Add me and its almost 6800. I removed the cast centers and installed JD 9 bolt wheels and unloaded the tires. Im hoping to get down to 5600. Will I be close?

Was your 47 A one with the flat plate frame rails or the cyclone pressed steel frame? Also my club doesn't allow an A below 5000. So if I get there I ll be beyond happy

If U unload the tires & use pressed wheels U should be below 5000, which would give U movable weight. Yes the 47 had the pressed frame rails, but still had the high, low transmission.

I used to pull a 1952 A with pressed steel and 15.5 tires. It weighed 4945 lbs. with me on it (200 lbs.) Still had rockshaft and pto in it and my front weight bracket and wheeliebars weighed 120 lbs.
