Hey guys I am in the process of redecking my
gooseneck. My question is what is the spacing on
your guys angle iron on your dovetails? Mine has
wood now and I"m thinking of putting angle iron on the
dove instead of wood. And i dont live anywere close
to a trailer place and all my buddys have a wood tail.
Thanks for the help

That's what I was figuring they were. What size angle iron do you have and the thickness? I'm thinking of using 3/16

If you put the V up, you will have twice as much area for traction when loading(think rain and wet tires) Mine is up and I will never have them down again.

V upside down doesn"t hold garbage. Also about four inches so its easy to walk on if needed. Some are nasty on ankles or kids fall through if spaced wrong.

The beaver tail on my PJ has them at six inches with V down which makes it self cleaning. The stock is 3/16. As was said, wider than six inches and the kids that inevitably play on them will be falling through, and getting hurt.

I think mine are 5" or so from peak of angle to peak of next angle.
Thing to be very mindful of, is your foot going between them. I was stepping off my tractor once onto the angle irons and my leg went between. Luckily I was able to bend the knee but if it happened any other way I could've screwed up my knee and or broke something.
