Farmall M weight

Is it possible to get the weight of my farmall M down to 5000 or 5500 pounds? I use it for other purposes than pulling so I still have the belley pump in it. I also am planning to keep the original cast hubs on the tractor.

If you are going to pull it a lot and you like the pulling sport I would buy another tractor. if you can and then have a farm tractor and a puller. There are two M's in our club one pulls div 3 and he starts at 4500 and other one pulls div 2 and he starts at 5000
But they're stripped and they have pressed steel on all 4

I have a 1952 Super M that we use for farming and I put on weight brackets and wheelie bars and pull it a few times a year. It has the pto and the lift still in it and cast wheels and it gets down to 5000#. If I used lighter pulling parts I could get it even lower.

I have a 46 M. it has Hiesler overdrive, Hiesler live pto, and Hiesler live hydralics. Also a single frt wheel that is IH all cast rim (HEAVY). Cast wheels with 13.6 38s me on it and usally 3 #100 weights in #5500. If I switch to pressed steel, the rims and tires I have for that tractor are 15.5 38s Safemarks but they are 8 ply, so I dont gain much if anything...

So what did you do to get Super M to 5000# if u still have belly pump and pto and all cast wheels? Ours weighs 5650# with all that. I should add that it does have a wide front end that could be shifted to narrow. Anyone know how much weight that would shave?
