I have a 1600 oliver with a gas engine that is in need of overhauling my question is will it be very complicated to put the 310 in it dont mind doing some mods as long as it will bolt in place of the current engine? Thanks for the help. If someone in north missouri has one for sale i might be interested.

The engine block will fit right in the tub with same holes. The engine is a 1/2'' longer in the rear PTO shaft needs shorting but clutch, flywheel ,bell housing bolts right up.Need short water pump snout and motor will set up a little in the front.Put a 310 in a 77 once.

I'm pretty sure the 310 will bolt right in with no cutting of shafts in the back, but you may have to do a little work in the front, maybe not. I think the 310 and you're engine are the same length while the 77 engine is shorter. Chuck
