The Battle of the Bluegrass Heritage Series would like to thank all the pullers, their families and friends, and all the fans that attended the First Annual Pickin’ Grinnin’ and Pullin’ Festival. We would like to apolize for the delay in the show line up on Saturday. Unlike most Antique Pulls, we promoted the event through local radio and television. We had fans coming in later and we wanted them to see the pull. We learned that we just have to keep going and this will not be a problem in the future. We made some mistakes, and we have learned from them.
Additionally, I wanted to say something about Antique Pulling. I have always loved Antique Pulling, but this event really showed me how much I do love it. On Saturday Morning before the show started, I was walking around and became mesmerized about what I was seeing and hearing. What I saw were hundreds upon hundreds of really unique tractors, and the sounds of the motors, a constant noise that was not too loud, but always there. I just loved it! All the different brands, and unless you go to a major Antique pull, you just can’t see this anywhere else. As the day went on, I saw families that had never been to an Antique Pull, walk around, sitting the bleachers, watching the classic iron go down the track, and then they would get up, talk to some drivers, head outside to watch the wood carver(great job, Harley!), and then head to the Bluegrass Music building, and then head back to the pull for a while, and then back to the Bluegrass Music. What we are creating here is a festival, with Bluegrass Music, Country Comedians, and Antique pulling.
Again, we would like to thank everyone for being a part of this event, and we will be announcing our summer schedule soon.
