This is not the answer.
I would love to start a open class here in ohio. In my area there are about 6 tractors with rd motors and many olivers, masseys, cases who want to run but have to run for fun because we dont offer a class. I say make a tire size, updraft single carb, and weight class with all safety equipment and lets have fun. i dont want to pull with classes im not legal for. i dont like all the bad feelings. just an idea.(quoted from post at 08:05:43 02/28/14) why not just add an open class that allows for them and be done with it. The Kentucky pullers have classes for them and it's the best class at the pulls.
I am from n.e. ohio, sounds like a good class would they let me run my 560 with a rd 450 in that class?(quoted from post at 18:35:14 02/28/14)
Stoneman,
Where in Ohio are you? We pull some open-ish classes in New Lexington. We are about 50 miles southeast of Columbus.
Our unchecked class is basically cut 18.4-38 limit, 20" hitch, 12 mph. Rule says block must be visually correct (no automotive blocks). 35, 45, 55, 6500 lbs.
We also added a "naturally aspirated" class for this year which will be safety equipment, 20" hitch and 18.4-38 tire limit. 6000 lbs.
We also pull a checked class which is similar to div 2. Uncut tires, 3.5 mph, 18" hitch, etc.
Additionally, we added some jackpot-type classes for both cut tires and uncut tires.
We have a good time and pretty good tractor turnout this past year. Looking to continue building. We are up to over 100 hooks average.

they are killing the sport by keeping the Rd engines out not very many people can spend 25000 on a Big M Farmall engine. And the big 4 cylinder engines want no part of a Rd.(quoted from post at 00:31:49 03/01/14) I agree that speed limits are never perfect but why should people who can"t spend the kind of money it takes to build a big cube four cylinder be able to get a RD motor or a big cube HD Moline and at least have a chance to compete. I never go to a pull and expect to win or even place for that matter it"s still fun for me. But why not let the lower budget guys have some fun too?
Thanks,
Jim Henke
I do not know much about a Case would a 504 bolt in a 600?(quoted from post at 05:05:38 03/02/14) This is all great except some companies (Case) don't have a big motor that we can kind of bolt in like an RD or a 310 or an HD 800, or aftermarket Deere blocks ,some of which are newer than '58'. And some people will spend just as much on those motors as the big M's and make monster motors.
