out with the old in with the new......

Here is a pic of the old steering shaft and steering wheel.......
2nd pic is the new steering wheel shaft and wheel and universal slid into place......I have to slide the two collers and the top steering pedestal piece on before welding it up...
3rd pic I took the org. universal and I cut the org. shaft flush, I then drilled 3/4 hole in center made a 3/4 slug and welded it in.....now the 7/8 chromoly can slide over it....one it will hold it straite 2 it will strengthen the steering...

today if I get time I am going to build a new steering pedistal as well....the org one has cracks and is rough shape..... something at one time must had fell on the steering wheel it is bent flat in one spot and with the cracks in the pedestal.... I would have to assume so...lol
