whats better for pulling with a 900 or 901 a 4 speed trans with a Sherman or the 5 speed. and how fast do the tractors go when you change rear tires from 28s to 38s. thanks

On top of that question can a ford funk v8 8n pull in an antique class?

I'm not a real Ford guy but here goes. I had one I was thinking about making into a puller. Seems like 15.5X38 first on a 5 speed is 3.9 at 20% over rpm. I think first on a 4 speed would belike almost 5.5 with tall tires. Yes the under-drive would maybe make it about right but that would slow down the trans making it weaker. It is the weak-link already. Yes I have pulled against V8 conversions in 4 mph mod classes. In 1952 they put a ohv 6 cyl in a few 8N's I have pulled against one of these also. If could hold the trans and ring&pinion in, one of these would be the hot setup. Start with a 300 Ford 450 cu. with a good head. Someone will do it.
