I have a Farmall M Propane that I pull with and
am looking to get more power out of it. It has the
electronic ignition in it. I pulled it this past
weekend and went 161.81 in first gear and ran out
of power in the 6500 class. I also pulled it in the
6000 class in second gear and went only 111.00 and
ran out of power. Looking to get more power out of
it on a low budget. Thanks for all your help.

there aren't any cheap solutions all solutions are more power and that's expensive . lighten it up to 4500 and 5000 you will be competitive in stock classes there. hope this helps

If you have a regular M running on propane, you are at a disadvantage to start. You probably have a gas head at best. So, your compression ratio isn't high enough to get all the bang out of the LP.

Switch to gas or up the compression ratio would be my first advice.

There is not a stock tractor that can pull second gear put it in low and pull 5500 and lower and you should be able to spin your tires

Agree with all of them. Low gear, switch to carb. also check casting# on the head. You at least need to have a 8574 or a 8060 to have any compression at all. Afer that start tunning and come back to the fourm. Many souls here willing to help
