Digital tach for JD G

Does anyone know of a good digital tach for a JD G?

Buy a snowmobile,four wheeler or jet ski tach off ebay,around $20.00 Wrap the wire around the #1 plug and follow the directions to program and you are good to go

Cyberdyne or Summitt sells a digital one as well. Is driven by the negative side of the coil.

But don't u have to buy 1 for a 2 cylinder ? Or would a 4 or 6 cyl do the same thing?

If you have a normal gasoline distributor, it turns at crank speed and not cam speed. It fires on compression and exhaust strokes.

Because it fires twice as often as "normal", a 4 cylinder setting is what you want.

If you have an LP distributor, it has a gear reduction to run it at cam speed, and in that case i don't know what you would use.

I bought one from denny's once. It fired from the neg side of the coil. Wouldn't work with points and copper core wires.
