I was hoping to get a answer from the below post but oh well....anyways I'm building a 301 and wondered if it would be better/easier to do a stroke to 4 7/8 or just a offset grind with 153 rods? 4 inch bore on both running 3500 rpms. Yes ill get a steel flywheel.
Thanks

I built a motor like that years ago off set grind comp cam ford pistons 301 head big valves port and polished hear ran real strong

Did you have to grind much in the block just doing a off set? What ford pistons did you use? Ever dyno it?

no grinding it was a long time ago i think ford 351 pistons comp cam i think i still have cam spec never had it on a dyno but ran 3rd gear with 20.8 38 tires up to 7500 lb it ran good
