Big Bad 820 from MN.

Does anybody know if Gary Van Buskirk is still pulling that big 820 of his? I last saw pictures of it back in 2011 when he won points with it in NATPA. Just curious, I remember that tractor from several years ago.

Last I saw of it was two yrs ago in Lyle. Saw him pull a JD 70 last yr a few times and he also was pulling a Ford gas in the pickup classes this summer. Not sure why he didn't pull the 820 this yr? Pretty tough competition in the sportsman classes in that area.

I was just wondering if it still ran as good as it used to? I have not seen it in person since it left Illinois. Wasn't a 20 series then.

Yeah I would say it still sounded like it was 900+
cubic inch. Did it pull Div II Natpa? The last I saw it was pulling sportsman classes against some tough Olivers and Farmalls, usually placed middle of the pack.

900+ cubic inch is being modest. In our local club it pulled super farm (natpa div. 2)7500-8500 and modified stock (natpa div. 3)6500-8500. I beleive Mr. Van Buskirk pulled it in natpa div. 4, I know it had the power to do it.

Did Gary build the engine or someone back in IL? I knew it was at least 900 but didn't realize it was on the high side of that.

Didn't see it this summer, but then I didn't make it to as many pulls.
Saw it a pull a few years ago and something happened to it, made lots of bad noise and was pulled off the track.
Heard it was around 1000ci.

Pulled against Gary in Hastings a couple of years ago, impressive. Saw him in Columbia but he didn't have his tractor. The other one was owned by the Kapraun family out of Metamora Illinois. Equally impressive.
