If you spent fuel money to get there,

Go buy a $6 breakfast and be happy you have a place to pull.

Keith, I know they are putting money as a sponser for the pull. That breakfast is not going to work for the pullers as you know from from last year we got SCREWED out of it,even when it was checked on the night before to be opened at 6 am so we be at the pull by 730am start time. I was told by the Gold strike 3 weeks ago there were only single King beds so we got rooms in the hotel but not in code 1312 for the same price $59.00 for 2 beds. Keith I'm from MISSOURI and if you say your going to do something you do it come hell or high water an I've been in both so GOLD STRIKE your free breakfast sounds great but the pullers have to leave for the pull by 7 am at the latest. Keith,it's my fault for not looking at the web site for new start time as 8.30am will give plenty of time to eat and get to the drivers meeting. As you remember we talked about this last year. If you had told me on the fist reply that the time was moved ahead like it used to be instead you told me I ought to stay home there would not been all of this bickering. I do go to the Blue&White and enjoy it as I do the pull. Sorry for the misunderstanding.Wildman

Flyer shows 8:30 but the page with the classes shows 7:30. How do you know which one is correct?

River rat , if you feel like you got screwed maybe you should stay home. We "Mean Green" make every effort to make everyone's visit enjoyable. Sometimes there are things that are beyond our control. We had requested that Gold Strike open the buffet earlier but It didn't happen. I have posted my phone number numerous times telling anyone having problems making reservations. No doubt they do have some problems with their clerks making reservation . I will say again if anyone has a problem making a reservation give me a call 501-278-6823 as far as the breakfast I have done all I can do.

yes, really. I happen to agree with "for real" up there. A $6 breakfast is a very minor expense and a drop in the bucket for what the entire trip will cost.

My comment wasn't about breakfast, I've never heard a promoter tell pullers to not come and keep defending a hotel with a bad track record. This isn't the first time pullers say they can't get the advertised price on rooms. I agree about buying a $6 breakfast but also think with that attitude maybe skip the whole thing.

Bt.....considering the fact that he left this thread after popping off to Gene, then started a new one on the same subject .......tells me that promotors are more important than pullers tells me alot. I Took these arrogant fellows on once, then later apologized, because people told me how wrong I was. But im starting to wonder about this, watching the rather cheeky responces given to others. I Know wildman, and he just told it like it was......I was also similarly told to bugger off........so I think Ill leave it in the shed this year. This is the biggest pull in the country.....so guess they can easily afford to peave off some pullers with legitimate concerns right? After all...who would miss a few dozen hooks @ an event like this?....... the good book states "unfaithful in little unfaithful in much." now I suppose some will post how lousey a fellow I am, and how crummy my machine is.......but I dont give a whittle.

Gene is a helliva good guy...who will go out of his way to help anyone.....and telling him he may just ought to stay home is just rude. Isnt it just easier to fix the problem, rather than blindly shooting the messager? AT.

We stayed at the Gold Strike last year, and it was a nice place. But we had a hard time getting the correct rate and the tickets for breakfast. I had to go to the desk and ask for a manager, and when she called me, they fixed things. Of course the issue with breakfast was a real shame, I do not have an answer for that.

Rich

Lol Trapp, can't wait to see the little deer. Looking forward to seeing it. Drive safe & we will see you in a couple of weeks. That is a thought, waiters at the arena. Maybe some of those playboy bunnies. We will have Elvis there pulling a tractor. How cool is that?
