Wait 'till you really get the bug. There are a few guys up here that will drive to FL pretty much every winter. A few years ago a buddy and I both pulled our trailers two and a half hours one way to the same track three times in one season.

There's so much pulling to be done within 90 minutes... I suppose some day I could take a long trip but I dont see that anytimes soon.
There happens to be other things that we do. We have two kids, and the stuff they do. We both work. Then there is maintenance around the household(gardening, chickens and ducks, etc).
Before you know it, going to 8 pulls a year takes up alot of time. We do a couple over nighters with tractor pulls. This year it was at Cliff Clarks. It will be there next year too.

Yes, you can put only so much time into it, and the cost of travel with fuel going so high is a big factor too. That is why five of us got together to be able to put on some local pulls. Three guys bought a sled together, another, along with his wife, put together all the sign-up and PA needs, and I built a drag and a track. Now we have four pulls within an hour for most of us, with good enough tracks and equipment to draw others in from much further away. There are usually 50 to 125 tractors, so the competition is still there to make them worthwhile meaningful pulls, and you know that you are getting measured against some strong competition.

Yea I hope to do a few more over nighters at other pulls. We dont "camp" at campgrounds. We do all our camping at tractor pulls or shows.
After doing it this way, I cant see doing it any other way.
