is there any type of automotive springs that can be put in the distributor on a super m how do the different springs effect the tractor?

Springs work with the weights to change timing as engine changes speed. Best to check operation on a distributor machine for rate and degree total. I have used the Chevy springs from NAPA before, think they are still available.

Most auto parts have distributor recurve kits for the Delco HEIs, it comes with weights, cams and a nice assortment of springs, You won't need the weights and cam but the spring assortment may be what you need.

You could call Gary Baker and get exactly what you need. His vast experience working for you would be a major plus.
