when I bought my Bridgeport series 1 j head mill I received a 5 hp rotory phase converter along with it....it was an industrial version but pull start with a rope.....my buddy and I finally took it and hooked it up to power to try out.....we installed start capacitors and a 10 sec relay....so now you just click the button and it fires right up.....this does not look like much but it runs very quiet un like a lot of others that I have herd.....now I will be able to install it in my shop and I will be able to run my Bridgeport, linley vertical mill/drill press and my south bend lathe that all run 3 phase...I only have single phase coming in my shop...
