Recomendations for 310, with 300 lbs of static compression, having issues with pre ignition, 110 octane fuel.
 
Maybe you just need more cam to cut the low speed cylinder pressure. Also set the timing back 5 degrees and then run it and see if that helped.

That's a lot of static compression, I,d be inclined to try a bit higher octane fuel.
 
Im running an AutoLite High performance plug... like them real well. Get them at napa for aboutg $4... Let me know if you want the part number and I will get it to you.

Thanks for all the suggestions, it has been running
great for about 4 years and all of a sudden issues,
will check out ignition system this AM to insure
that I am getting proper fire..
 
Sounds like fuel issues. I run at least 300 psi cylinder pressures and reciently had to use better fuel. 110 is to low of octane for you engine. 114-118 would be better
 
Thanks again, discovered it was nothing more than a back break-a-way switch, knew it had to be something simple.
