hello guys! wanting to start another M project with another farmall M i have... im still deciding on weather or not i want to pull with the tractor or make it just for tractor rides... ive seen guys buy the keystone turbo kit for there M's and get close to 90 horse!!! and i would like to build and M with a 5 3/4 stroke or 5 and a 1/2 and not have to get different rods and spend hours with a hand grinder going at an engine block... as i want to pull in the heavier classes with the stock 560's and bigger olivers and see how id do.... as ive priced a 7 inch stroker kit and that was very much out of my price range any one no what a smaller kit would cost?.... id really love to come across a m&w stoker kit but i find that hard to beilieve i will... my great grandfather had a 450 diesel with a stroker crank in it and that tractor would keep up with a 706 !!

Murphys' stroker kit with a 4.310 bore and 6.75 stroke no grinding . just my opinion but it will be close to 100 hp

id agree, if it was built as is intended out of the box, and did not decompress it, and threw on a keystone itd blow. what say, if the engine was at 5 to 1 then added a charger? it would run for atleast one pass. lol.

i was pondering on what kind of outcomes turbo charging and stroking would do! i wonder if a 5and 3/4 stroke and 4 and 1/4 pistons with not to much compresion and a keystone turbo would make for horsepower and stay together? would a 4 and a 1/8 bore motor with a 8060 head be a good candidate for a turbo motor? ive heard some have had pre ignition problems with having more compresion and adding a turbo.. seen guys having to inject water to keep pistons from melting!

Im currently running a Keystone Kit on my M with 6" stroke and 4 3/8" bore for the last three years without any issues. Natural compression is currently 5:1 and I will run approx 20lbs of boost at 1950 RPMS. I utilize a MSD box with a MAP sensor to retard the timing to eliminate detination. Horsepower wise I would say its comparable with the big cube M's around my area but gearing and turbo spool limit the tractor for now.
