Thanks to all from yesterday the float was in fact rubbing on the side of the bowl. Now to the next new problem.....
I can't get it to not sputter and cough when I pull the throttle all the way open. Once the rpms are up it runs fine and it idles fine. But I can't mash thr throttle without it sputtering. Fuel flow is good air flow is good plugs wires coil cap rotor points and condenser are all new. Fuel flow through the carb is good. I can open the high idle screw up way to far and make it smoke black and close it and kill the motor. Same with idle screw. It ran good before this float issue with no coughing or sputtering and I'm fairly certain I have the float set correctly now.
