He had to realize that it was running away, turn the key, realize that the key didn't work, think what's next, pull the choke, realize that the choke want doing it, think what's next, and go for the battery. I'm sure it ran away long enough to scare most people.
Where you save time is having a plan, and not stopping to think "what do i do now". Gas or diesel, think right now, "what would i do if this thing suddenly ran away"? If you have a plan in the back of your mind, you'll be ok.
If the 560 owner went straight for the dist, instead of the choke, it likely would have been faster.
Lots of thinks to have in your mind ahead of time for the sake of safety:
What if my motor runs away
What if i wheelie too high
What if i start to slide backwards on my ramps while loading
Planning ahead will save time and keep you safe.
